Meet Lucilla, the heart and soul behind Monier Vet Clinic. A proud local, Lucilla grew up in the area and has dedicated her career to caring for pets in our community for an incredible 30 years. She graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland in 1993, where she was honoured with the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association prize for Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists Award for Excellence in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.

As an experienced and dedicated veterinarian, Lucilla has a deep passion for all aspects of small animal practice. Her special interests include feline medicine, anaesthesia, dentistry, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery. She also possesses a keen enthusiasm for avian medicine, particularly in caring for backyard chickens.

Lucilla’s expertise in soft tissue surgery and senior pet care is matched only by her commitment to treating each patient as if they were part of her own family. With a vision to create a warm and welcoming environment, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that Monier Vet Clinic feels like a home away from home for pets and their owners alike.

We are proud to have Lucilla leading our team, where her compassion, skill, and love for animals truly shine through in every aspect of her work!

Dr Amber Thomas

Dr Amber graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2006. Initially working in the equine field at several referral hospitals within Brisbane, her career took a change in direction after the birth of her twin girls, when she moved into veterinary nurse education and finally small animal practice.

Amber has worked at numerous small animal practices throughout Brisbane in both locum and permanent roles, which has seen her gain a wide range of experience and knowledge. Amber enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She is also very passionate about small animal dentistry and enjoys client education and communication.

In her spare time Amber and her husband are usually doing ‘DIY’ renovations or gardening, as well as spending time with her young family and pets, which include two dogs, guinea pigs and chickens.

Larissa graduated from the University of Qld and has been practising in the local area for over 30 years.

Larissa loves general practice and enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. Pet rats have a special place in her heart.

Meet Chantal Celindano, our resident cat expert! With over 20 years of experience in feline medicine, Chantal has worked in cat hospitals across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and London. She has advanced qualifications in Feline Medicine and Feline Behaviour, earning her the title of 'Crazy Cat Lady'.

When she's not at the clinic, you can find Chantal running her house-call practice, Feline Fine Mobile Vet, in Brisbane. Her passion is all about understanding cats holistically within their environment and focusing on preventative care to ensure every cat gets the best life possible.

Chantal is supported by her aspiring vet daughter, Vivi, and her office assistant Meiko Nuggetini, a lazy rescue Tonkinese. They make a purr-fect team!

Lead Veterinary Nurse

Meet Jenny, our Lead Veterinary Nurse, who joined us in 2021 and has since become an invaluable part of our team. With a lifelong passion for animals, Jenny has built a rewarding career in veterinary nursing since leaving school. After a break to raise her four wonderful children, she returned to her nursing, bringing with her compassion and experience.

Jenny excels in caring for our hospital patients, especially the seniors, and approaches each day with enthusiasm. Her commitment to exceptional care ensures that every animal receives the attention they deserve.

In addition to her clinical skills, Jenny takes pride in mentoring our junior nurses, sharing her knowledge to help them grow in their roles. Her warmth and support create a positive atmosphere that is felt by both colleagues and patients alike.

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family, which includes two dogs, Pip and Dash, a spirited rescue cat named Freddy, and three lively cockatiels. Her nurturing spirit defines her both at home and in the hospital.

We are grateful to have Jenny on our team, where her dedication truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients and their families!

Hannah, our experienced and cheerful veterinary nurse hailing from New Zealand! With a deep love for all animals, Hannah has a special fondness for our big dogs, and her passion for veterinary nursing has been evident since she began her career in 2012.

Known for her sweet demeanour and infectious smile, Hannah brings a wonderful sense of humour to our team, making her a joy to work with. Her calming influence not only resonates with her colleagues but also shines through in her interactions with clients, who appreciate her compassionate approach to animal care.

Hannah studied veterinary nursing in New Zealand, and since joining our team, she has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her role. She genuinely loves coming to work each day, driven by her commitment to providing exceptional care to all our patients.

Outside of the clinic, Hannah enjoys quality time with her partner and two children. Their family also includes a beloved cat named Reggie, who has made the adventurous journey between New Zealand and back with them.

We are thrilled to have Hannah as part of our team, where her expertise and warm personality make a positive impact on everyone around her!

Shannon is an enthusiastic and dynamic Veterinary Nurse who recently joined Monier Veterinary Clinic in 2024. Her boundless energy and quick learning ability have made her an invaluable part-time addition to our team. Shannon is a true dynamo when it comes to cleaning and keeping the clinic looking pristine, always ensuring a welcoming environment for our patients and clients.

With 10 years of experience as a Veterinary Nurse, Shannon brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the clinic. She is exceptionally helpful to all the vets and nurses, always ready to lend a hand and provide support where needed to care for our patients. Her friendly demeanour and joyful spirit make her a pleasure to work with.

Outside of her professional life, Shannon is a devoted mother and the proud owner of a beautiful young Doberman named Obi. Her passion for veterinary care and her compassionate nature shine through in all that she does, making her an indispensable member of the Monier Veterinary Clinic team.

Isabella, our dedicated Junior Veterinary Nurse, hails from the picturesque New South Wales. Her journey into veterinary nursing began with a passion for animals and a commitment to their well-being.

Isabella recently achieved her Certificate II in Animal Care Services at TAFE and is currently advancing her knowledge by studying for her Certificate III. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development is evident in her swift progress and eagerness to enhance her skill set.

Isabella is known for her quick learning ability and keen eye for detail. Her youthful perspective often brings innovative ideas and fresh approaches. One of her notable responsibilities includes taking patient pictures for their profiles, where she excels in capturing the perfect moments.

With a knack for making our furry friends smile, Isabella uses our delicious treats to create a positive and enjoyable experience for them. Her gentle demeanor and attentive care ensure that our patients feel comfortable and loved.

Outside of her professional role, Isabella is an avid reader and writer. She shares her home with her beloved dog, Gracie, who undoubtedly benefits from Isabella's affection and expertise.

Sarah Pike

Senior Receptionist and Assistant Manager

Introducing Sarah Cullen, our Senior Receptionist and Assistant Manager, whose friendly face and caring demeanour make her a beloved part of the Monier Vet Clinic family. Sarah is dedicated to ensuring that our clients feel welcome and valued while providing gentle care and support for their cherished pets. Her nurturing spirit extends to our team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

With a full-time role as a veterinary receptionist, Sarah brings a wealth of experience to the clinic. She holds a Certificate II in Animal Studies and has over 15 years of experience in the medical field, complemented by a Certificate III in Assistant Nursing. This diverse background allows her to blend her medical knowledge with her deep affection for animals, making her an exceptional asset to our veterinary team.

At home, Sarah is a proud cat mom to three adorable felines: Butterscotch, Liquorice, and Mufasa. Her love for animals shines through in everything she does, and we are grateful to have her as part of our team, where her kindness and dedication make a difference in the lives of our clients and their pets!

Veterinary Technician

Cheryl is a highly skilled Veterinary Technician at Monier Veterinary Clinic, where she is a valued member of our team. Originally hailing from Taiwan, Cheryl moved to Australia to pursue her passion for veterinary technology. She graduated from UQ Gatton in 2023 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. Cheryl began working with us at Monier Vet Clinic while she was still a student, demonstrating her dedication and exceptional attention to detail from the very beginning.

Cheryl’s love for working with animals is evident in all that she does, and she is always eager to expand her knowledge and acquire new skills. Outside of the clinic, Cheryl enjoys capturing beautiful moments through her lens and sharing her photography on Instagram. She also loves staying active by going to the gym.

At home, Cheryl has a delightful toy poodle whose favourite toy is a little squeaky ducky, adding joy and laughter to her life. Cheryl's commitment to her profession and her compassionate care for animals make her an indispensable part of our team.

Katelyn is a cheerful and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant at Monier Veterinary Clinic. As a young school student, Katelyn completed her placement with us through the Australian Industry Trade College, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the veterinary industry. Following her placement, she has taken on the roles of Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Hand.

Katelyn works diligently at the clinic, always bringing a positive energy and a great sense of humour that brightens the day of both colleagues and patients. Her love for animals is evident in her compassionate care.

At home, Katelyn is kept busy by her four adorable cats, Romeo, Beanie, Lucie and Scout and two beautiful dogs Archer and Pixie, each with their own unique personalities. Katelyn’s joyful spirit and love of snack food make her a valued member of Monier Veterinary Clinic.

When she's not greeting our furry friends and their owners with a warm smile, she's delving into the world of veterinary science at the University of Queensland. Dinuki's passion for life extends beyond the clinic walls; she's a devoted artist, gym enthusiast, and avid explorer of new hobbies alongside her friends.

Having been surrounded by a menagerie of creatures since childhood, Dinuki's love for animals knows no bounds. From squirrels to turtles, rabbits to the unexpected fostering of a mischievous mongoose named Bingo, she's had a wild ride with her animal companions. With her boundless curiosity and dedication to both her studies and her interests, Dinuki embodies the perfect blend of professionalism and passion in her role as a veterinary receptionist.
